How long have you been in business?
We've been serving the Colorado Front Range for 19 years now, since 1994.
What is your primary product or service?
We retail window coverings. Blinds, Shades, Shutters, Draperies & Top Treatments. We sell many produts and manufacturers, Residential and Commercial. We specialize in Energy Efficiency and Motorization of window coverings including providing integration with home automation systems.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
Lennie, the owner, worked for Lockheed Martin and was laid off (imagine that?) in 1993. Coming from a technical industry, Lennie's experience with specifications, manufacturing engineering and drawings serves him well with assisting those who want quality products in window coverings. Outside of draperies and soft treatments, most products manufactured are engineered and the quality, reliability, and seviceability of those products are important to him. He started this part-time and realized that he really liked the part of sales that helps people find the best solution for their given situation. We purchased the business from the original owner in 1999.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
We have a showroom in Littleton that serves as a Hunter Douglas Gallery location. We are a Dealer Service Center for Hunter Douglas as well, performing warranty work, repairs and some modifications. We are the only window covering company partnering with Excel Energy and Smart Energy Living Alliance on the energy makeover homes and have come to understand energy efficiency at the window very well. We also help people find solutions for problem windows. We are willing to innovate and find solutions that require us to work with local workrooms to custom-make a solution - not just what we can order from the various manufacturers.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
We have the one location in Littleton. We would like to expand some day, but we will do so as the economy improves.

We are at 10027 W. Remington Ave, Suite 200A in Littleton, CO 80127. Even though our address is Remingtin, our building actually faces Kipling. We are on the NW corner of S. Kipling & W. Remington Ave. We share the same building as Big 5, one street light N of C470 & Kipling.
What type of payments do you accept?
We accept the four major credit cards, checks and cash.
Which areas do you service?
We primarily service the metro Denver area and local Front Range mountain communities. We will travel farther into the mountains and more distant cities for a trip charge which we may apply to an order if placed.
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
Lennie and Tanya own the company. Lennie primarily does sales and Tanya runs the daily operations with the invaluable help from Sheila, the Office Administrator.
What are your hours of operation?
We are open from 10 - 6 Monday - Friday and 10 - 4 on Saturday. Closed Sundays and on major holidays.
What is the best compliment anyone can give you?
By using us again or referring The Blind Spot to a family member, friend, or neighbor.
